If you’ve been staying in Malaysia for a while, you would have undoubtedly come across a universal problem all locals face — a lack of parking!
Regardless if you’re going to work, the mall, or anywhere in any highly dense populated areas, ParkIt is just the thing you need.
Parking Doesn’t Have To Be A Chore
Established in 2016, ParkIt is a peer-to-peer (P2P) car park sharing platform set on changing the ways of the parking industry. At its core, ParkIt aims to provide a platform for anyone with a vacant parking space to rent it to others who might be in need of those spots.
As for its inspiration, ParkIt took strides from the sharing trend that has dominated industries aplenty in recent years, such as co-working and co-habitual spaces.
And for the team behind ParkIt, the importance of parking prices aren’t lost to them. The team aims to address the problem of exorbitant prices some parking providers charge their customers by trying to keep prices as competitive as possible as compared to these traditional vendors.
Speaking of prices, ParkIt usually charges a fairly low fee for lower-demand areas and an obviously higher price for high-demand spots. Though, the asking price is usually determined by the property owners themselves — with the ParkIt team only serving as advisors.
In the future, the ParkIt team plans to expand their reach to beyond the Klang Valley — ambitiously aiming to go even beyond the borders of Malaysia. As for today, they are currently trying to bring in anyone who owns a vacant parking spot in areas that are commercially thriving such as KL Sentral, KLCC, Pusat Bandar Damansara, Bangsar, TTDI, Damansara Heights and more.
